"She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellow'd to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impair'd the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling place.
And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!
In spite of being 100% subjective, mother & photographer, I am bold enough to claim Lord Byron’s poem for this pic.
SEPIA SCENES IS HOSTED BY TEACH MARY
And well you should. She's a beautiful girl.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty shot.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is beautiful and perfectly matches the mood and feeling of the poem.
ReplyDeleteI featured my daughter this week too, on Ruby Tuesday. I too am 100% unbiased. LOL
What a beautiful portrait, and tribute to your daughter.
ReplyDeleteI love the green leaves, love her expression, so filled with mood.
What a beautful woman. You captured her essence.
ReplyDeleteAn etheral poem and even lovelier picture.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful photo of your precious daughter, Felisol. And what a wonderful motherly tribute to her to add the perfect poem. She is blessed to have you for a mom. Hugs to you.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSuch an elegant and lovely lady. I know you are her mom, but this is a graceful and stylish pose...
ReplyDeletefelisol, a lovely blue tinge to the sepia!
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful photograph, and I can see it is a wintry springday when it was taken, am I right?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful poem, just right, so right.
As mothers we are 100% unbiased, and 100% subjective.
Sepia has a way of making me feel nostalgic.
Dear Lidj,
ReplyDeletealways nice hearing from you. I'll visit in the morning. Now it's bedtime for me..
Just wanted to say that the picture was taken less than a week ago. The background is the sprouting branches of my beloved Clematis.
You must think me some big hen mom publishing all those pictures of my daughter.
She is of course the apple of my eye.
She also has had a very low self esteem, for no good reason at all.
It has improved lately, but I just never can stop showing what a wonderful, valuable a person she is, inside as well as good looking.
From Felisol
What a beautiful young lady and the poem is perfect for the photo!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing in the world like A Mother's love (and a Father's Love).
ReplyDeleteBeautiful portrait!
Also, the photos of you and your father and of your father and mother are really sweet.
You know felisol,

ReplyDeleteFelisol, I'm back today because I wanted to thank you for your heartfelt prayer. You don't know how much that touched me. I included you in my thankful Thursday post today. I'm so grateful and thankful for the power of prayer. I am starting to feel better today.
ReplyDeleteDear Debbie,
ReplyDeleteIt's a long way from Phoenix to Norway, but somehow we were at each others blogs at the same time.
What are the chances for that??
Hugs from Felisol
I love when a beautiful picture is paired with a beautiful poem
ReplyDeleteYou are quite right claiming Lord Byron's poem for this sepia pic of your lovely daughter, Serina. They are perfect together.
ReplyDeleteI read over at Terry's that you've had company and have been too busy to post a Ruby Tuesday. Spring time has a way of getting a person away from the pc and out in the land of the living. Enjoy your change of scenery.
Hugs,
Simply perfect...beautiful daughter and beautiful words!!!
ReplyDeleteThe poem matches the lovely young lady in the picture.
ReplyDeleteI love the noise and splash of green.
Beautiful photo, perfect poem...
