I want to go home and watch a sundown on Jaeren,Down by the sea, where the waves beat against the shore,
'cause behind the brim of sea, far out in the atmosphere,
She will color the sky red with flame and fire.
Picture by Gunnar, who also chauffeured her on two Jaeren trips, while my dad was paralyzed from brain hemorrhage.
Oh dear Felisol, the poem translated is so beautiful, and so is the photograph of your mom by Gunnar.
ReplyDeleteThis earth is not our home, and I know the longing that your mom feels is for her eternal home...
Jesus said we are blessed if we long for His return.
It won't be long... it won't be long.
We are all waiting, together with the rest of creation, for our full redemption. We are longing for the new Jerusalem.
I wish your mother and your family peace.
Love,
Lidj
Precious relections both in words and photos.
ReplyDeleteThis is meaningful for me as my mother and I are both struggling with various issues in our lives.
I feel very low and exhausted emotionally and physically. The pressure on me is very huge. And I am ready to fall into pieces. I feel like a despondent Job, ready to die.
But I have determined to wait for the Lord 's help...His salvation
dear felisol...thank you for the meaning of the poem.

From Felisol
Beautiful poem, beautiful picture! You have a knack for putting the two together

ReplyDeleteLove,

It is very touching that you shared with us this story. The pictures made the emotions even stronger. The dusk... There is something warm in the picture - the scarf - I had that kind if scarf when living in Russia - it is a very warm and soft thing that brings comfort. These pictures make me search for comfort - a thought or a place, a tea may be or a scarf - something that will bring peace to my mind... Thank you!
ReplyDeleteMy but Gunnar took such a beautiful photo of your dear mother. I love the reflection of her surroundings. Bless you, Felisol.
ReplyDeleteI saw that photo once before. I loved it then, and I love it now. It's byooooooooootiful.
ReplyDeleteSo is Jæren.
So is that song.
:)
I was secretly hoping one day that you would translate the beautiful words painted by your mom on her laundry room wall. Her shawl appears most like tiny ocean bubbles below the sunset. Very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post in all respects.
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
