We are outdoor almost all day. Dressed in wind jackets. Eating on the terrace and reading. My project for this summer is Ulysses. A small hint of red on the book.
The old explorer is taking us out about sundown. I cannot imagine I'll ever get tired of the brilliant colors, making earth and sky magic.
Every cloud has a gold lining in Norway.
I know of no countries having such an abundance of summer poetry and beautiful songs in every changer praising sun, sea and God's immense creation. We are summer fanatics. 
"But off he dies the fire wild, like fading glow." I'm still waiting for Kris to translate "From Sea a land of Elves arise". Best sunset poem ever.

ReplyDeleteLove those fiery skies. It *was* warm enough here to swim yesterday; today it is more comfortable and spring-like.

These scapes are just beautiful. I was to Norway way back in 1982, and what a beautiful Country. The nicest part was how well your people treated us. We felt like Royalty

when bernie and i were out west last year, in one of the canadian papers there was a write up about something that norway did for the canadians during the war and i didn't take the paper from the a and w restaurant where we were reading it, but i DID take pictures of it for you and somewhere in the thousands of pictures that i took, it is hiding!
felisol, your norwegian sunsets are just as pretty as the ones in my beloved manitoba and your summer life sounds like a dream...reading your post is like reading a good book..
i guess i will be a little late writing my ruby tuesday..
ha! i had to clean four bathrooms today and mop three huge floors and so after i make bernie his chili lunch, then i will rest a bit!

Gorgeous photos and a great post. i am not sure if I could stand having that much daylight. i have trouble sleeping with any kind of light around.
ReplyDeleteThe sky offers a rich glow, the beauty from above and truly God's creation. I agree with the light being the high point of the season, the extra things we can do outside.A round here, the baby birds start at the first light, around 04:30 - in the winter, that little thing of the season would surely be missed. Beautiful Norway, as always!

I can understand why Norwegians prize and cherish their summer so much, sunlight, color warmt, brilliance. Everything looks lovely.

18 hours of sun! Too much for me, I think.... but your sunsets are gorgeous and that dandylion photo is exquisite.
ReplyDeleteI always remember (who knows why) the opening words for either chatper 3 or 4 of Ulysses.... "ineluctable modality of the visible - at least there is that if naught else..." It goes something like that anyway, I think...

I have no doubt that you will accomplish reading Ulysses, Felisol. With all of those glorious hours of summer light and porches to sit upon gazing at God's beauty surrounding you everywhere .. such a book will be read.
