KINDNESS

Easter morning we had planned to mount this mountain peak, very small, with a wonderful view. A sudden change in the weather made spring into a wet and snowy day. Nevertheless none of us thought of staying home, and we spent a wonderful day together. The kind people who owned the land let us borrow dry clothes and fed us with an excellent Easter Lamb dinner after our excursion.
My first cousin Vivian came all the way from Chicago to be with her two ill and aging uncles and their wives for three days in November latest.
She moved us all beyond tears and words.

Husband Gunnar drove six hours in the middle of a roaring hurricane one dark November night to bring home this blue oil barrel. Daughter Serina was granted this special instrument from her favourite group "Kaizer's Orchestra" after a concert in Bergen. She was overwhelmed by the gift, and did not hesitate to ask for her father's help. Their relationship exceeds kindness.

Everyone who's being kind to my baby, here at her confirmation day, is a friend of mine.
If some should try to hurt her, I have no mercy at all.

We've had three cats. One died at the age of eighteen, one was only three. Marcello, the happiest and kindest of them all, disappeared at the age of two.
We have organised searching, have advertised in the paper, on the radio and in the shopping centres. No results in three ears. Our hearts are bleeding.

Serina's grand aunts who have been more than kind to all of us sitting at our terrace. Their concern, cordial and munificence are beyond borders.
One has got to love them back plainly and simply.

Guess that I, like amongst others St. Paul, have an honest will to do the good, but lack the power. I therefore was not happy at all when the word to contemplate on for this week was kindness.
I am more of a bitch than that of a saint personality. Hence the name of my blog.
"Didn't mean to be unkind.
You know that was the last thing on my mind," Tom Paxton wrote.

Actually I am being kind to helpless children, animals, elderly, the mentally retarded and some of the mentally ill.

I claim that virtue.

I am, however, not a kind person, not to mine or my nearests' and dearests' experience, - alas.
Most of all I'm acting like a hedge-hog when I feel frightened, angry or insecure. I curl up to a ball and unfold my hundred spikes. I kill mice and snakes, though, and am an extermination threatened species myself.
I humbly let those who feed me pat me on my head, and spread shit on their terrace, if they scare me.
Guess I need kindness, and like to show kindness, but not always or in general.
Hmm.. I'll have to reflect more on this theme.
"Tomorrow is another day," Scarlett O'Hara would have said.

Dear Felisol..
I never got a chance to write to you yesterday so here I am now.

I just googled it to see what time you are there in Norway and while we are sitting here at 10:41 AM in Southern Ontario, you are there 4:41 PM...
Your day is almost half over!

I want to thank you again for the nice comments you made about my dad on my blog.
It is such a worry to me each day that he is not a Christian yet but your saying he is a prayer child gives me so much hope that he WILL be!
There are so many people praying for him and people that I have never even met are doing so.

I just came from Noel Lewis's blog site.
That guy has got himself a baby buffalo that he is nursing back to life.
It is so cute!
I guess there are quite a few buffalo in Texas.
I don't think we have them here in Ontario.
We just have a lot of deer.

I am so sorry that you have lost your kitty, Marcello.
Maybe because he IS such a kind and happy cat, he was found by someone and he is living happily even though he must miss you guys.

We have one cat now and it is really Bernie's
When i lost my own cat, Sir Galahad, a big black cat who was 16, I never really felt like getting another.
It is too hard when they die.

The elderly people in your pictures are so cute.
Old people have always been just my cup of tea.
I love them!
Yesterday when I took my mom to the nursing home,to see her sister, my aunt, I brought my camera and took a lot of pictures of them!
Next week when I go back, I will have put each one into a sunset and printed out pictures for them.
This pleases them so much!

Well I hope you have a good rest of the day!! God's blessings on you and your whole family........from Terry

Dear Feliso...
I feel so bad for your dad and at the same time so happy that you are visiting him.
This would make such a big difference in his life.
Can you just see when you visit him all those hours how many of the other dear people there never have anyone coming to see them?
It is so sad!
My mother had blood clots a few years ago in her leg but she has been taking medication for them, but I find that at times, she does worry a lot about them.
When I take her out, it seems that she is able to forget for a while that she isn't well. She also has lymphoma, but the doctor is keepig his eye on her. She goes to see him every six months and so far she is doing alright.
Today it is Saturday and raining, but that is alrght. It sure is better than the snow!!

I would have said good morning to you but you are already into your day and it isn't morning,eh?

Well take care, my friend and I will try and write later today....
Again, I must thank you for your visit to my blog here in Southern Ontario. CANADA!!
You are welcome anytime!......Love Terry

Hey how about that!?
Now if you have a little time Felisol, you just have to read a little of Sioux's blog.
She is an artist and draws just the cutest kitties you ever did see!
She is a good friend of mine.

I said that I would write to you a little today and now it is 12:30AM here in Canada,
I will be getting up in a few hours. Ha!!

Before I go to bed though, I have to make a giant fruit salad.
Every other week the Spanish folk from Welland and St. Catharines get together for a gospel meeting in their own language.
They are Christians that are welcoming the Spanish from the town to come in and hear the good news of God's salvation.

After the meeting, they all gather downstairs for refreshment.
Spanish people are not as sweet toothed as Canadians.
They prefer eating friut.

My ingredients are Cantaloupe, Honey Dew, Kiwi, Seedless Grapes, Mango,Pineapple,Peaches,Tangerines,Cherries and any other fruit that I can get my hands on!
It takes quite a while to chop everything up!
The reason I make a big one is that if anyone would like to take a bowl home he can feel free to do so.

I find that the Spanish people are such a great bunch.

I went to three levels of Spanish so I could learn the language, only for the sake of speaking to the elderly gramma who had a very difficut time to learn English.
Her tears of frustration used to make me so sad that I determined to learn Spansih and speak to her.
She used to make me little white cakes wrapped in spotless white tea towels.

Well I better say good night for now, dear Felisol, and wish for you a very happy Sunday and I will be praying for your dad and that his pain will not be so bad....Love Terry

Hi Felisol, or should I say Good Morning.
It is amost 4 o'clock AM in Norway! [ten o'clock here].
Bernie is getting ready to go to work.
He is on the night shift and will work until 7 AM.
He works in a steel plant.

Really, even though I felt bad about losing my job a month ago looking after Katy, I am getting used to spending more time at home and more time with Bernie and more time with mom, so I guess I am feeling alright now.

Katy is an elderly lady who Betty, my sister and I had been looking after for three years.
She is 86 years old and I miss her.
I think one of the most things I miss about not going there is that the jack-in-the-pulpits will be coming by now and that is one flower that I really love.
They are hard to find anywhere but Katy had a whole hill of them!
Maybe I will put some pictures on my blog.
Pictures that I got last year and the year before that and two years before that....
I will miss the chipmunks too.
They are so cute.
We don't have them in the city because of the cats.

I was so glad to hear that your dad will be going home to be with your mom.
And then you can visit both of them at once!
Will they be giving your dad a blood thinner medicine?
That's what mom takes.
She has to get a blood test every month.

Did I tell you that spring is finally here Felisol?
We saw a big field of dandelions yesterday, and soon the lilacs will be blooming!

Well I hope that you have a good day and I am so glad that your dad is not in pain.
I think about him quite a few times during the day.
You love him just as I love my dad.
I suppose your dad is all ready to go to heaven.
That is so nice!

God bless you and your whole family my Norway friend...Love Terry

Noel has fixed my favorite links.
When I ask him to put a few more on, can I put your's there Felisol?
Let me know, Ok?

Thanks for visiting my blog. Although Davy Crockett was a little after my playing period (I was a Roy Rogers fan), I enjoyed the TV show. Fess Parker who played Davy was from a town close to my home, so, although I didn't know him, I knew people who did. He is a fine man. Again, thanks for visiting.
