EVERY HAIR NUMBERED

Had an evil day.
A really bad one.
As ever when I'm balancing on the edge, I looked up my Bible.
As expected I got an answer that was just right for me.
Luke 12
7 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Bob Dylan is some singer.

Happy Easter to you and your family

Dear Amrita,
yes, he is some singer and some lyrics and melody writer too.
I hope Gunnar and I are able to attend his concert in Norway in May this year.
That will be the day.
Yours Felisol

Is that Bob Dylan singing? I once went to a concert of his when I was very young:-) Now THAT was a long time ago! :-)

Thinking of you today, Felisol, and wanted to send a warm hug across the pond.

love,
Vicki

Dear Vicki,
yes that is His Bobness himself singing. A recording from the early eighties, I think.
Thank you Vicki for sending me warm thoughts. I accept every hug with a double in return.
It sure warms my heart, 'cause I know you have a lot going on for yourself.

God bless you richly.

Hello again, Felisol, and thanks for your comment on my blog. I understand what you're saying. I'm not sure my post was very clear, but I cannot live the Christian life in my own strength. It is much like you described so well yourself. I fall flat on my face. But I am learning to let Him just live through me and He will help me. He knows we're unable by ourselves. And that's good news to me. His mercy is never ending:-)

love to you and yours,
Vicki

Dear Felisol...As I listened to and watched this video, it was more that I could stand.. all the sadness in it and I was tempted not to go to the end but I am glad that I did. I was overwhelmed with the cruelty of man to man as I watched until more than half way through, Bob Dylan whispered notes of hope as he sang on and by the time the last note was sung, my heart was comforted.
That picture of the little sparrow reminded me of the verse:....Psalm 102:7
"I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top."

And yet this lonely Sparrow has numbered every one of our hairs?
And He is there for us always in the good times and in the bad and during our lonely days, He understands us.......Love Terry

Hebrews 4:15
"For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin."

Dear Terry,
I agree, it's a harsh and painful song and Dylan's lyrics are all autobiographical. The lanst stans is what is so comforting to me, "ad onwards on my journey I've come to understand/that every hair is numbered/lie every grain of sand."
This almighty Lord cares and is by us all the time.
Like Elihu from Bus when he says to Job chapter 35
14Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.

I will not claim that I understand the roads and actions of God.
I just know He's there, counting the hairs on my head and never letting me alone.
Yours Felisol

I sure like Jesus words about how God takes care of the sparrow.

"His Eye Is on the Sparrow" is a nice song, I heard Cliff Barrow sing it once, that was my favorite.

"Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home,When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He:His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me."

Arlene (by His Stripes) had posted that last July,
http://lovinggodandlife.blogspot.com/2007/07/today.html

She had put the whole hymn on her blog along with a little history of the song.

Hang in there Felisol, "He's watching you too!"

Thank you, Felisol. I needed that talking too. Just as much, I needed your prayer. There were some good to me reasons, not being afraid of the procedure for me to not do it today.
I don't think Mrs. Jim would let me quit on it. She needs the same thing and will do hers soon.

Dear Donna,
you're the one that should be and are thanked for running your prayer site.
What an unselfish thing to do in these times of egoism and empty materialism.
You are reaching out a hand to help thy fellow pilgrims on their wandering. I do think that must please the Lord too. Carry each other's burdens..
Love Felisol

Dear Jim,
I know you are a grown and responsible husband, just got a bit worried.
Both Mrs. Jim and the Lord will take good care of you and probably counting the hairs on your head both of them.
Praying for Mrs. Jim too.
Yours Felisol

Dear Felisol,

I popped over from Amrita's site - I have found more great blogs from there than I can count! Anyway, I have scrolled through your posts. I love your love for scripture. And I have a ten year old daughter, and am willing her to stay little and stay at home, though I know that is not to be. :-)

Thank you for posting a lovely blog.

This was lovely!! I know that scripture well, but it is because my hair is falling OUT. I want there to be enough left for HIM to count!

Be blessed.
