MY SEPIA ROSE

The Rose

Some say love, it is a river
that drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor
that leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger,
an endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower,
and you it's only seed.
It's the heart afraid of breaking
that never learns to dance.
It's the dream afraid of waking
that never takes the chance.
It's the one who won't be taken,
who cannot seem to give,
and the soul afraid of dyin'
that never learns to live.
When the night has been too lonely
and the road has been to long,
and you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong,
just remember in the winter
far beneath the winter snows
lies the seed that with the sun's love
in the spring becomes the rose.

One of my favourite songs, Felisol! And it's such a lovely photo of your daughter.

This is a beautiful and mysterious picture. the sepia softens the shadows and paints a beautiful and thoughtful person. You have created and chosen a lovely subject - sepia or not...

I agree with Ralph.

It would be beautiful even if it weren't your daughter or in sepia, but it is, which makes it ever prettier. :)

That song, my sister and I, we do an awesome duet at that! We MELT people! Haha. Yeah. No, seriously, we sound pretty cool. It's a nice song.

Anyway, hope you're doing well. Hugs and luvs.

Dear Felisol,
Thank you for visiting again. It delighted my heart. You guessed right, I have been sad...and feeling like a stranger in my own home! Maybe it is what you call a reverse culture shock... re-entry adjustment... Of course many things were waiting for me. Will write about them hopefully...

Have not been able to visit my blog friends the past days.

Now this sepia picture of Serina is beautiful.

And this poem you posted, where did you get it? It is so beautiful and worth re-posting on my own blog! I love the words, they are so true.

Blessings on your day dear friend.
Love
Lidj

Hi, I don't know if my earlier comment was saved. Just want you to know your comment on my last post, and this post My Sepia Rose touched my heart so deeply, it led me to write a post about my own daughter!

Read it when you have time...

Love,
Lidj

Felisol, it sounds like your wrist is getting better, I see a lot of capital letters here. I hope it is.

Thanks for peeking in on me, I almost slowed down in blogging again. Yes, people "who have little loose more when they loose everything" was the reason I am such a good gambler. I couldn't afford to lose at all.
Of course I don't gamble even a little bit, not even lottery tickets anymore.
