RUBY ART

This picture is hanging in our kitchen. It's a painting, oil on canvas, made by Serina 5 years.
I love the way children can and will express themselves when not interrupted by adults. I very carefully asked about the contents of the artwork. a huge red flower, a house, two suns and white stars.
There art artistic minor flowers as well and a lonely window standing on the lawn with yellow sun shining through it. Needless to say that picture has brightened my days for seventeen sunny years.

Here we go! It's Ruby Tuesday again!

Felisol, That painting is wonderful and I'm glad you've had it to admire for so many years. I'm glad you liked the German food I posted for RT! :)

This so tugs at the heart strings, Elise. This is just the best Ruby Tuesday offering.

A child who sees her artwork hung in the kitchen for 17 years knows she is loved. Serina is a lucky daughter...and YOU are a fortunate parent.

The art of the artist is of their thoughts and feelings. They express them, yet it would seem that young Serina, like all child artists is not so cluttered as the mind of adults who 'know' much more. The expressive rubies here are beautiful, from the expressiveness of a creative child. Superb!

Wonderful! I hope Serina is still painting!

Awesome! I think it is neat that way you encourage Serina by keeping her painting and framing and hanging it. Thank you for sharing.

She must have been proud when you hung it on the wall.

Like Cunning Runt said, I hope your daughter is still painting and creating.

Wooow, that is awesomely pretty! I don't think I ever did anything that cool as a kid. Kudos to her! (Or him? But I was guessing it was Serina?)

Anyway: I love all the things you post, all the pictures and what you tell from your life. I haven't commentd in a while, but I read it all. :) Just so you know.

Oh, and a VERY belated happy birthday! Looks like you had great fun!

dear felisol..i have been thinking of this artist's picture since i looked at it a few hours ago.
felisol, you must tell the princess how much it has helped me.
when i was in grade seven[twelve years old] and we were to paint a picture in art class, i tried my best, but i was certainly no artist!
the next day in class, i thought my heart would burst with joy as miss korlack got the students attention and said, "class just take a look at this picture."
felisol it was MY picture she was holding up high for everyone to see and i thought that she was very pleased with it, but the next thing she said nearly broke my heart, "a grade two student would have done better!"
and the kids laughed.
well felisol, if serina was only five when she created this marvellous piece of art, well i am thinking that maybe that drawing by a "seven" year old couldn't have been that bad, eh?
serina's painting has been like a salve to my heart!
who would have known that this lovely, colourful painting would of been filling an old lady's heart with such joy?
serina is just like her mom!! a real encourager!
love terry

What a lovely piece of art. I must say it is a masterpiece, having been done by a five year old, and having been preserved all these years.

What gives value to a work of art is not the work itself, but I believe that meaning and the sentiments that it embodies.

Thank you for sharing this.

I arrived safely in cool and lovely Chiangmai, Thailand last night. My friend Ut says that is is -41 in Norway.

Keep warm, dear friend. Keep warm!

Lidj
