Counting blessings # 1

Genesis 15:5 'Look now toward heaven, and count the stars, if thou be able to count them'; and He said unto him: 'So shall thy seed be.' 6 And he believed in the LORD; and He counted it to him for righteousness.

Oh yes, belief comes through trials! How true that is. At least we learn to walk by faith through trials especially when we don't know how it will end.

I was looking for your email address but couldn't find it in my saved messages. However, I thought I'd just stop by your blog and tell you how much I appreciate your comments, especially today on the thankful Thursday post.

Felisol, you are such a blessing. You always take time to leave messages of love. That means so very much to me. I'm so glad that we also share a friendship with Sonja, another Norwegian. :)

May the Lord bless you abundantly Felisol. Your words of comfort did just that and I thank you.

love you,
Debbie

It is so good to count one's blessings. Affirming God's love for us. Even through trying times and we make it to the other side .. count the blessings.

Dear Amrita and Debbie,
I know you both in different ways have had to endure trials and fears, far beyond what I am experiencing.
Yetdo you both hold up the light of faith midst in the dark valleys.

I just read Romans 5:
1Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

2By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

3And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

4And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
God bless us all this day with hope through experience.

5And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. storm and

dear felisol..this is such a great promise verse to not only all of us but to the jewish people..some day and probably very soon the jewish people will have their rightful place!

but for us what an astounding verse this is and you are right it is a blessing.
trials make us stronger and our hearts softer.
i remember one of the preachers said that trials to a christian are like the heat on a wax candle. the candle will soften and melt but the same trials on someone that is not a christian that same heat is like heat on mud that will dry up and make harder than ever.
anyways the lord has promised us that he will not give us anymore than we can bear..that is a promise too, eh felisol but how i fall short in believing it so many times....debbie is right..you are one of the kindest persons that i have ever known and you are my best friend....love terry

What a beautiful picture this is, but even more beautiful are the words of Scripture that went with it.

Abraham is one of my faith examples in the Bible...

Thank you. I am counting blessings with you today.
