For the Youth

This poem (it's not actually a hymn) and this very scene melted my frozen heart.
I needed that special song to get my ice converted to tears and leave my body.

Felisol:

That service was something that I needed too. It was as though I were attending the memorial of all of those Norwegian children whose lives were lost last week. It was a quiet, holy moment to shed tears with all of you.

Thank you.

Dear Felisol. I just want to say how truly remarkable the Norwegian people are in the face of this terrible thing. The dignity and grace that is being displayed is beyond words. The way people are coming together in peace and love in the face of evil brings tears to my eyes. What a strong and good nation.

Psalm 119:28
My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.
i only wished this were so because at the moment my heart is so frozen!

Your nation's grief, coupled with your own, has even brought you and Norway closer to my heart.

I have read about this memorial service, and looked at hundreds of photos of your prime minister, the crown prince and his wife, the thousands of roses and candles, flags flying at half mast...

there is so much power released when people choose to RESPOND to violence in the opposite spirit - through rose petals thrown on the waters of the sea, embracing, touching, allowing tears to gently fall. No desire to fight back... just to be vulnerable in the face of so much pain.

Dear friend, I want you to know I have shed tears for you these past days.

Be filled with hope for the coming eternal day when life will not be snuffed out in senseless cruelty, but will be celebrated.

But for now, let the tears flow. May they cleanse your people of the ugliness and the defilement of hate. We were not designed for this, but redemption draws near. And in that hope we rejoice.

Much love to you
Lidj
