Our menu was not pound adding. This morning I weighed the least I have weighed in several years. I could lose more though.
It was a nice meal, with more wine than I was drinking. I did like the desert wine, it sparkled like Champagne.

Mrs. Jim is on the menu planning committee, forty-four subdivision couples eat three different dinners all using the same menu three times a year.
This is the second meal of the year, the planning committe of four ladies plus husbands have to 'test' and fine tune the recipes and serving sizes.

She has the recipes for each item:

And

Danish Apple Cake

Felisol, what a beautiful pic to go along with such a treasure of a Bible verse! :)

I have just spent time looking through your other pics in your previous post. So glad to see Serina made it back home! What talent she has in photography! Maybe she should develop that talent of hers which God blessed her with! :)

Thank you for stopping by my place. We are nearing the big day! It is exciting to see how the Lord is working in their lives together already! :)

Thanks for sharing your world ... and your kind comments on my blog a few days ago. Is the weather nice enough to start any spring planting? We had a GREAT downpour of rain yesterday ... my new seedlings I set outside in little trays nearly washed away ... Will Serena come home for the summer break soon? What an adventure she is having, eh? Please post some pictures as your beautiful seaside landscape starts blooming this spring. Hugs from across the pond.

Oh My Felisol...what a beautiful picture!
I hope that you won't mind me using it for my Mom on my Mothers Day Post.
Oh it is just sooo nice!!
And the verse!!! Wow!
Bernie has fixed my computer and now I can get into my friend's blogs in good time.
Before it was taking about five minutes!
I will make my rounds now!....

Did your little princess take this picture?

Have a Happy Mothers Day, eh?....Love Terry

PS For that trip, if I ever make it to the far side of the sea, that pea soup that Jim is talking about would be just fine if you can make some!!!
Oh Felisol....I don't like shrimp!! Shucks, eh?
You say that is that only thing that you can cook?? ..Ha!!
I like food that is piping hot!!!!

Dear Jim,
your menu was delicious, I sure whish I was there. I even had to look up the meaning of the different courses and found that you were really international, Italian, French, Southern States, Scandinavian and South American, Wow.
I added kilos just reading it..
By the way, I had to stop my powder diet. It was supposed to burn up hydrocarbons, well, it burned down me too.
My new project now is just to half my dishes (and no chocolates except for festive occasions).

Send my best to Mrs Jim, she must be quite an organizer and have a great knowledge about food in addition to being a skilled chief.

Dear Renae,
it would be great to have the lot of you over for a loooong breakfast (that's my best time of the day, two hours with some eating, coffee, chatting reading the latest papers and more coffee. Of course I serve tea for those who might want that.)
To fully enjoy the sundowns into the sea we have to walk five minutes, but it sure is worth while.

Dear Amrita,
the verse says about evry thing. I can be as small and powerless as I often feel; still I can do everything through Jesus the almighty. That is indeed my experience.

Dear Saija,
long time-no see.
We have been Eastwards collecting Serina and all her worldly goods. It to a couple of days and I did not bring my laptop.
I am happy for Leo though, and praying for the best both about his medication, but also for his constantly leaking spine fluid. It is said to be the most painful one can experience.
I just loved the pictures of the prophet, that's my Gunnar too, and he will not let his beard go!!!

Dear Pilot Mom,
you probably only have marriage in your thoughts, and that's just wonderful.
I appreciate your visits though, and your wide open heart.
Serina is now home with us, and still doesn't now what she want to be when she "grows up".
We'll just have to wait and see and hope for the best.
She is talented both in writing and artistic ways, both hard work must be done to develop any skill, and I don't know just how much she is willing to invest.
I keep on praying.

Dear Mrs. Mac,
I surly hope you will make a book of "This new house". It's so beautiful and interesting to follow a two year planning and creating from a raw land to the tiniest details in the bathroom.
I have been planting for quite a while, even broke my chest bone in my eager to crush a snail. The doctor laughed, and so did I.
Nowadays I'm fertilizing my herb bed.
I am cooking soups and making the soundest salads in the world from what is growing on our garden.
I so enjoy it.

Dear Terry,
in Norway we celebrate Mother's day second Sunday in February. May is so overfilled with public and church holidays there would not be place for more. This week-end is Pentecost both 1st and 2nd day of Pentecost are paid Holidays. So is May 1st, the worker's day, Ascension Day, 40 days after Easter, (this special day Worker's day and Ascension Day fell on the same day, but normally there would be two free days. Then May 8th is Flag day, end of Germany's occupation of Norway in WW2.
The day over all days is May 17th, celebration of Norway's Constitution from 1814. Our constitution is very much built on the American, and is primarily celebrated by children first and adults later on the day, parades with flags and brass bands playing all the old, familiar songs.
We are so proud of our constitution day. We put on our handmade national costumes, polish the silver to wear with it and use half the night before to iron the embroidered linen shirts, decorate in and outside with flags and flowers in red, white and blue, lots of flowers and birch.
Then we pray for sun, at least until the children's parade is over. After the parade there will always be feast gathering in the churches.

I guess I could be able to serve you something hot too, at least the seventeenth of May.
Just joking, that special day also has a special menu where a late big breakfast is the most important. Later on the schools gather children and parents for games and song and heaps of hot dogs and ice. It still is the day of the children.

I think you should not yet go hungry any day in Norway, Terry, even though the food and customs might be strange. We eat pizza, pasta, sausages, and burgers as well. Even MacDonald's and Burger King have several places in the district. (Not my favorite though).

So if you will by the tickets, we'll see to that you are well taken care of.

For now; enjoy May and Pentecost.
Best wishes from Felisol
