RUBY SIGNS

Originated by MaryT, check hers for today.

Happy New Year, Ruby Friends!
Today I live an indoor life, due to some fever and severe coughing.
Outdoor is King Winter has arrived. Minus ten Celsius degrees and no snow. Meaning that my garden plants are having a hard time.
Through my kitchen window I found the motive for today.
Ruby Sign.
I detest it. BYGGER'N is East Norwegian for The builder
Meaning they are selling plank, nails and anything in between.
It's a sad view. The birches, 5 in a row on our land, are protecting us from the soar sight half the year, providing green curtains.
Just now I choose to let my eyes wander elsewhere.
There are lots and lots of beauty in this world.
The birches themselves are not bad either.

Dear Felisol,

Gosh, it sounds so cold there. I'm sorry to read that you've been sick. I will pray for you, that you will feel well very soon.

I want to share with you something my dad emailed to me. He wrote that he's been visiting the blogs I've sent to him and he especially enjoys the Norwegian ones. I share yours and L-Jay's at My Little Norway. He said that he's been singing along with the Norwegian songs. That's from your blog! It warms my heart to hear my dad write this. He's going to be 80 years old next month and he reads blogs! I love that. He may not feel confident to comment but at least he's enjoying this and my dad loves Norway! Thank you for bringing him joy.

I also want to thank you for your friendship. You were so kind to vote for me on Wellsphere. They suggested we ask people to vote but I didn't want to do that. I also love it whenever you visit Heart Choices. You always have something good to contribute.

May 2009 be a good year for you, Felisol. I'm so glad to be getting to know you.

Hugs from,
Debbie

I wouldn't be too happy about that sign/winter view either, as you say, it's good you can chose to look for more pleasing views elsewhere! I hope you're feeling better soon, Felisol, and a happy and joyful new 2009 to you too!

There is still plenty of red in the foliage of the birch. I agree, i would not prefer to live near as tore such as this, Home Depot and Lowe's all over the US. But you do have the natural leaf screens in the summer, which is a blessing. Alas, some need their wood and nails. Your attitude is correct, beauty is all around us, for our eyes to wandder...

So sorry to hear you are feeling ill. Hope you recover quickly.
Yes, there are lots and lots of beauty in our world. We should try to find some everyday.
I loved your phrase "providing green curtains."

Sorry you aren't feeling well. Write to Dennis Puffett (Healing Haven on my side bar) and he will perk you right up! Or check out the healing hands page (I think it says online healing, actually) at Raven's Reiki (also side bar) or drop me an email and I'll send some reiki your way. Hope you feel better soon.

The sun in the bare branches is beautiful, if a little lonely looking. But spring will come, bringing back your green curtains.

The house I grew up in was like that - it only had back neighbors in the winter, when the leaves dropped off the trees.

I'm sorry to hear that you're sick. I'm just making my sick son hot chocolate. Shall I make a mug for you too?

Try hot water inhalation for the cough. it really helps. also rubbing eucalyptus oil on the throat and chest.

Pray Serina got to her school safely.
Its so cold out there.

I hope you feel better soon. There are so many of my blogger friends sick with colds and the flu. My computer is being so ssslllloooowww that I'll have to take your word about the picture of the sign. Happy New Year to you and your family.

I'm saddened to learn you're ill and hope you recover quickly. How interesting that you were able to find a red sign from indoors, but I agree it's a sad sight and I'd look elsewhere too. I shared a sign from my archives because I've been too busy to plan ahead for blogging, but it's a funny one I discovered while traveling a couple of years ago.
Hugs and blessings,
