JUNE BY NIGHT

It's June nights in Norway. The blond nights where the darkness never quite wins over the light. We came from my mother's in Sauda last week. The time was 1 a.m.
In driving by, Gunnar spotted the fog over Toskatjoenn. No blitz was necessary. Pure magic!

This is Norway summer magic!.
This is why so manyfairy tales originated from the nordic lands and i read many of them in my childhood.

I saw the Northern Lights of Norway in a National Geographic video and it was so beautiful, you must have seen sights like those so many times..

Hope Gunnar is doing well

I can only wonder at the experience of living in light at 1 a.m. For a reader and photographer such as myself (and YOU) times like this would and must be sheer heaven.

Such interesting and unusual photos! I wanted to share something with you. On my Wednesday post on Heart Choices, I shared a story about my grandfather on my dad's side. As a result, I "met" two more relatives of mine. One is Bill Sumstad and he lives near Seattle, WA. The other is Oge from Oslo. They knew facts I hadn't written and we realized we are indeed relatives. I was so excited and wanted to share that with you. Bill called both me and my dad and we spoke for some time.

oh how romantic felisol...after all your years of knowing each other, you two are just a pair of old love birds...
felisol..tell me...do they have june bugs in norway?
i remember we had tons of them in trenton and in ottawa when june rolled around.
must say i miss them a bit.
in welland there are very few because of the poison people put on their lawns just to kill a few weeds.
the bugs are poisoned and so are the robins...and so are some people's pets and who knows what it is doing to the kiddies who like to play in the neighborhood?

i have never seen the northern lights amrita....they must be so spectacular!
i wonder if i can find some on facebook?

annie is going to have to come over to see you felisol so she can get a few norway photos.

well i had better quit my chatter and move along.....catch you felisol...love terry

ps..you know you are somebody special felisol...i mean you are just the one to tell when one of your friends has good news like debbie did.
sure that debbie loves your photos but she was just bubbling all over to tell you her good news and it IS good news indeed!

Dear Terry,
if you are looking for Aurora Borealis on the YouTube, you just might get lucky.
The Northern Light is best seen in winter.
Gunnar has made a poem about it, and Serina a painting to the poem.
Some day I will post it.
You are a heart-friend too, Terry, just the girl to share both cry and laughter.
I have dearly experienced that.
From Felisol

I have been told that Norway is one of the most beautiful places in the world.

From your pictures, I have seen it must be true.

How magical... makes me wish I could experience what it is like to live in such a place. Well, even then, our best experiences on earth are only shadows, a mere foretaste of heaven!

Oh, those are beautiful photos! I miss staying at my grandparents' cabin where the water always looked like that, and the moors too.

I am so looking forward to showing my American friends the Norwegian summer-nights when they come next weekend! I bet they'll like it!

Land of the midnight sun! We experienced it a little when we spent a summer in Scotland...not quite as light all night but strange for us anyway, what a magical time!

We had some of these nights in June when we lived in the far north in canada and they were indeed magical...especially for the children - we would let them stay up
