One hymn got 4 votes;
Old rugged cross.

Three for;
Abide with me,
Amazing grace,
Davids psalm 121,
Handel, Hallelujah Chorus.
Psalm 137 (choir of the Hebrew slaves/By the rivers of Babylon)
Jeg er så glad hver julekveld.

I've chosen psalm 121 to represent the ones with three votes.
It's such a special psalm in our family.
My Dad loved it, and of course knew it by heart.
When Serina was 4 years, she suddenly asked out of the blue at bed time;
"Mother how far away is God?"
For a moment I was bewildered; then a sentence from Psalm 121 came to help. "
5 The LORD is thy keeper; the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand."
The smile upon my girl's face as she let her right hand making shades upon the wall. "Is it true? Is he really here?" I found my old Bible and read the hole psalm for her, to confirm what I just had told her. And I know He was there then and he is here now. AMEN

I humbly thank all the participants, and if I have counted wrong, please let me know.

Thank you for posting the poll list. Quite impressive it is-from all around the world, traditions, genders and ages. Very interesting indeed.

From very childhood Serina has been thinking about deep matters. And you as parents have whetted her apetite.Love the story you wrote about and your answer with a scripture.

I like Ps 21 - very worshipful.

Felisol:

How beautiful, just beautiful on this Good Friday to hear that sweet little voice!

This was quite a poll and so interesting that The Old Rugged Cross was #1. I love it too.

Carol Joy will be back to 'visit' you here. And yes, we both love Sissel. Her voice is like a clear bell.

Happy Easter to you and your family from 'across the sea' in Texas.

love,
Sonja

Hello Felisol! I can still hear my Norwegian mother singing "Jeg er sa glad hver Julekveld"...I love talking with you as it brings so much of Norway back to me.
No wonder Jesus wants us to "come as little children"...they are so pure of heart...such as Serina!
Thanks for such a sweet picture.
Happy Easter Felisol!

I have such fond memories of attending church in my youth. Always, always hymns to be sung, sitting next to my grandma, wearing white gloves and a little chapel veil .. so different today with the youth. You have quite a long and extensive list of favorites indeed from around the world. I could not choose just one and don't remember all the names of the old hymns .. oh to hear them again would bring back good memories.
