RUBY NORDIC SCENERY

The Nordic weather has been weird this April.
Sun,fog, rain, snow, hail and night frost have taken turn to confuse us.Worst of all this ash layer from Iceland forcing the planes to stay grounded for a week.
When I first woke up smelling smoke, I reckoned I'd been too heavy with barbecue oil the night before.

Alas, it was the real thing. The scenery was practically gray.

Watching the sun sink in the ash layer over the sea,was quite an experience.

The cloud layer of volcanic ash can be a problem in many ways. The beautiful colors that result in the sky is no problem for us! The reddish orange cloud offers a stunning view, a brilliance that appears a a fiery cloud. Nice!

What amazing photos these are Felisol! It is so sad about the volcano and how it has impacted so many.

Blessings and love to you,
Debbie

Wow. For some reason it never occurred to me that you'd be close enough to actually see the ash. What an incredible sight. As an asthmatic though I can only shudder at what it must have done to the air quality...

Good morning Elise. Awful as the volcano has been for so many, it has the upside of providing dramatic visuals for so many as well. I loved spotting the bit of red that was still visible on the lighthouse.

It must be difficult living with ash in the air each day! But these photos have a weird, fascinating atmosphere! Beautiful!

Lovely hint of red in a background of grey...but if it were not for the destruction and delay, the ash cover gives everything a serene beauty!

THe pictures you shared were so "heavenly" beautiful.

I love the way you share these photographs!

How I love your Norway...it it so beautiful. I have heard on the news about the volcanic ash and the problems it has caused, but seeing it in your photo's brings it to life!
It is so sad about the young Muslim girl. Here they have killed their own daughters and sisters for becoming Christians or leaving their faith. Blessings Dear Felisol. I am always touched by your posts.

At least there was one positive from the ash - the beautiful skies at sunset.

May the Lord protect you from the harmful effects of the volcano.

One small volcano is causing such a lot of disruption and devastation. The airline compaonies have incurred great losses too.
Hope the situation is improving.

Those are some great photos for the memory. I really love the last one. It just shows Mother nature is still with us and the power of the earth, even when we abuse it. She wakes us up as to say "I'm still in control"

Such a beautiful sunset photo. Did you know that a "volcanic sunset" like that is said to have inspired Edvard Munch's background in "The Scream"? It's original title was "The Scream of Nature". You can read more about it on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_scream

Both beautiful shots, the one so stark in it's beauty and the other so radiant. Gorgeous. We're having a strange Spring here too. First it was unseasonably warm and now it's unseasonably chilly. Flowers are in bloom, though, so even though it's cold it LOOKs like Spring.

These are beautiful photos Felisol. Your photos are always nice and large so we really get a visual treat.

I hope the ash has subsided some by now. I remember growing up by the mountains in California and when they had forest fires, a fine ash covered everything, even got in our hair when we went outside.

God created some amazing things, and sometimes we are in awe of the power and strength behind His creation.

I just read Serina's comment and how interesting about "The Scream"...

Sonja
