RUBY FACES

In Norway we celebrate Christmas Eve. The shops close at 12 p.m.
and everybody hurries home to in their own way, get ready for the celebration. e

Our family always attend the worship service in the local church
as the start of Christmas celebration. We arrived early to get a "good" bench for the family. I snapped some photos before the service began.

Being extremely shortsighted, I do not always get all the details of what's been going on until I see the photos on the computer. Serina has put on her "Are you Russian?" look. My mother is a bit embarrassed, my brother is used to dealing with tougher youths.
Serina is the only grandchild of my mother and also her most precious treasure. There sure is no recipe about what to do when my beloved is acting up.
Look how well my brother is taking care of my bewildered mother, while our colt keeps kicking and jumping.
These pictures are published with Serina's permission.
I have to add she behaved like an angel the rest of our stay in Sauda.

Originated by MaryT, check hers for today

Your Serina has such a sense of mischieviousness (sp?) about her. How fun she is!

I was so glad to read about your Christmas Eve Felisol. As Norwegian Americans we also celebrate on Christmas Eve. I love that you always go to worship services with your family.

Thank you for each one of your insightful comments on Heart Choices. Every time I see your name, I smile.

Love to you sister Felisol,
Debbie

beautiful portrait! may I ask your mom's age? you see my son has a classmate in school who is always picked up by her grandmom who told me her age and I was amazed...was more amazed when she said her own grandmom still lives and is 88! They are 5 generations of them now :D I have this thinking that Europeans outlive most of us..have a lovely week!

Dear Debbie,
Serina can act as a little troll kid at times. When she actually was a kid, the service seemed long to her. At home dinner and gifts were waiting- This vacation we have been three times in church, and you know she loves the Christmas gospel and the old hymns as much as I do.

Dear Gizelle,
My mother is heading towards her 86th birthday. She is a widower, has had a brain stroke, but is still graceful to be alive, living in her home, free as a bird.
She's one one the persons I admire the most. For Christmas she knitted 9 pair of socks and crouched potholders to all of us.
She is never so happy as when she has her little family around her.

Dear Colleen,
I love you share my sense of humor.
Something about being at the same wavelength.

Dear reg,
I ditto your thanks. You always take time to give a personal comment. As I've said on your blog, I also very much appreciate you writing the text both in English and French.

Dearestest Terry,
thanks for pushing be a bit, |I do need that sometimes.
I'll be over tomorrow.

Oh, nobody is acting up here! The feeling on the eve of the Lord' birthday, all are happy and excited - the photographer has merely captured the playful side of her relatives. A wonderful group!

It's Serina that got my attention in the pictures! She reminds me of me... so who does she get her mischievous streak from, you or Gunnar??

I watched a you tube video of Norway last night, and it looked like it was done at Christmas, and I always think of you over there in "my country', so it was fun to see you all in this Christmas Eve service.

Love you!
Sonja

Well, I KNOW Serina is very dear MOST of the time. It's difficult to be perfect. :) I think she's a good sport to agree to your posting these photos.

What an imp. Her counterpart in California is waiting for the all clear to sneak on over and make mischief with her. What "trouble" those girls would make. LOL
