THAT TINGLING MAGENTA THRILL

"Most of all I love the naked spring," Norwegian author Sigrid Undset wrote. The first days of March are the best naked days of the year. Some brave snow drops popping their heads above the brown soil. Some brave birds returning from their winter hibernation to the bleak sun of the North. Singing, as if their sheer will power can change the season and make the landscape ready for new love and new life. In my heart I quote immortal Shakespeare.

Love makes the world go round too, says the song. The emotion of love is much like a melody it seems. Given the hate and vitriol out there, would the haters change their diets to include more music, this would be a better plave with more love...

Naked until the first crocus pops through the earth, the first robin hops around in the yard, the first fluffy clouds dot the sky and 'a young man's fancy turns to love'.
You've definitely made me look at the drab gray that is outside my window in a whole new way. :)
Lovely post Felisol!

We are having naked days here in GA too...they will not last for long...yet as you say, they have a certain beauty...I will enjoy them for now until the blooms of spring come forth and cover the nakedness and the sun warms us all.

Love this time of year, except for us in Georgia it's often tornado weather. Still, there are blooms in my yard and blossoms on the neighbors trees - sweet delights of spring. Hope you are well, Felisol! Love & hugs from across the sea...

Hi Felisol,

The birds are returning to our yard too and the wisteria vines are budding. Spring arrives soon.

I never really had a favorite month, until Ernie passed away, and then November, his birthday month, became one of my favorite months. And now, of course, my top favorite month has to be March. It is my birthday month, and it is also the month of my wedding anniversary.

What a beautiful post this is dear Felisol.

I should try to compose an ode to March.

Love
Lidia

Beautifully said. Our winters aren't so stark but the coming of spring is welcome all the same.
