The sun also rises...and sets

King Winter has been extremely reluctant to leave the country.
April is soon over, and yet the grass is brown and the birches haven't sprung.
The sun is, however, with us longer day by day. We have about 15 hours of sun each day. Some amazing sun-downs and sunrises to enjoy in  thick winter-clothing.

Morning sunrise in the east.

And sunset in the west.

I wouldn't change these magic hours for any Spanish beach.
This is where I belong.
This is where the sun also rises for me.

All so beautiful, dear friend. Both the photos and the few meaningful words.

Soon the warmer days of spring will come.

Praying that Abba Father will continue to fill your cup with joy.

I'm just enjoying your land with you today! It's kind of 'my land' too!! No wonder my mother loved Norway so much, and instilled that love in all 3 of her children. I wish I were on my way back this sumer!! :)

Dearest Elise,

It is amazing to me that you see both the sunrise and the sunset over the sea. What a simple thing to turn one's back and at the end of the day, know that the same beginning is not to far behind you - quite literally.

By the way, is that Serina silhouetted in the photo?

Dear Annie,
The sunrise in the east is viewed out my library window and that's not over the sea, but headed towards the inland. The landscape is so flat here, that we get to see wonderful sunrises from the inland too. This day it was actually redder than my camera was able to catch. The saying goes "Morning red, evening bled (bleed)", and indeed did it rain that evening.

I have taken all the pictures except one. Gunnar shot the silhouette picture of me just as the sun had sunken. Don't I look young from behind in the dark?? :-)

dear felisol....i have looked for a beautiful sunrise ever since i started blogging, a sunset that was actually seen by a friend and not one that i googled in.....i saw tons of sunsets but never a sunrise until saija sent me one once...oh felisol this sunrise is just so special..... almost being touched by the delicate lacy tree branches...just to think that when the tree is finally wearing its green spring coat ,you will not be able to even see the sunrise as the tree will be covering it....maybe the trees are looking at the redness of the sunrise and hoping for a warm day!

felisol, are those two ducks in the sunset picture?...bernie loves ducks and i showed him...he thinks they are...such a nice peaceful picture!

for sure felisol, you do look young...and on the inside of this silhouette behind the sunset lays the kindest and caringest heart and a young heart at that of where of course it can't be seen but we all know it is THERE....i love you my sweet sister on the far side of the sea...and don't you worry now....spring is a little late but god has promised that it will come!....love terry

Dearest Terry,
No ducks as far as I can see. There are some seagulls in the air. They are my friends. There are three seagulls on the heraldic weapon of Haugesund. Seagulls mean there's food to be found.
There are both swans and ducks near by, but not on this picture, I think.

Don't be afraid, I'll get the sunrises further on too, even if not outside my library window.
I wouldn't allow that to disappear from our view.

Hi Felisol,
Since Ginny fell ill and died, I have hardly checked any blogs at all.

Just no spirit for it.

However, as always when I look at the lovely photos you take of your homeland, I am refreshed.

Love, John Cowart
