DECEMBER EIGHTH

Serina loved to be Santa's helper. Here in National costume made by Grandmom and artificial freckles.
Read about how Sioux Sue became Santa's helper:

Two candles are lit.
On my Advent orange 15 clove nails are left.
Meaning little more than a fortnight before Christmas Eve.
Schools all over the country are busy finishing exams. The teachers work all night correcting answered and settling grades.
Then there is the Christmas play.
One year we had this German inspired play about the Christmas Rose.
It's so moving and the song about the rose miraculous unfolding in the cold wintry night has always been one of my favorites.

Serina looks like Red Riding Hood. Sp sweet.

A very Happy Birthday to you.

That 's what makes Dec 8 great!

Is Serina with you? Tell us how you celebrated.

The stage for the song has been beautifully set.

Dear Amrita,
it's morning still in Norway.
I have been celebrating since Friday. (My friends).
I am thankful for you remembering me.

Serina will be arriving Friday afternoon and staying till past New Year.
That will be my best present.
She also sent me one.
Gotta go. have an appointment with my doctor.

Did I hear that it's your birthday, Felisol? Happy Birthday to you! Enjoy your celebration.

I'm not too far behind you; I'll be 56 in February but don't tell anyone, OK?

I always look forward to reading your blog. You're going to educate me yet. Thanks for the info on the history of the King and Christianity. My dad's side of the family are mostly Christian but my mom's are not. :(

Dear Debbie,
I have been enjoying my birthday since midnight.
Now I have a pause while posting tomorrow's blogg.
I see that I have answered Amrita wrong.
It's tomorrow's YouTube that's recorded in a barn.
I can't believe that you are 56 years young.
If you were not such a nice person, I would envy you.
Soory to learn about your Mom's relatives.
That's the ones from Porsgrunn? Eh?
They live in a county Telemark which is quite different from the rest of Norway. Wonderful scenery and extraordinary folk traditions. They may sound a bit heathen, but actually they are fine people. I lived for a year in Drangedal, just some 10 kilometers from Porsgrunn.
The people treated me nicely, though being an unknown stranger.
Porsgrunn also has Norway's best porcelain factory. Very high quality.

Happy Birthday!

I'm enjoying all your wonderful music and nisse and videos as I visit your blog, but having a difficult time getting my computer to scroll the page properly so I don't miss anything.

This is one of my favorite songs in the world and I had forgotten all about it.
