RUBY DECEMBER SECOND

Originated by MaryT, check hers for today.

Ruby chaos
Ruby peace

Wow, our home is more like a bomb site at the moment. To decorate for Christmas one first has to remove the previous show pieces. In our hallway 12 boxes of season garnityre are colliding with ditto fixed exhibition.
My Mom years ago painted full Christmas porcelain service, breakfast & dinner. Actually not only for us, but for my three best friends and my sister-in-law and brother-in-law as well. Mamma says she'll rather give away than sell. Handicraft does not pay.
For now I have found mine and hubby's coffee mugs. They'll be used until New Year's Eve.
See what a real Norwegian youlenisse looks like!

It all looks pretty to me! Your idea of messy and mine are probably totally different. Besides, it's a mess in anticipation of fun!

I LOVE learning how you celebrate Yule.

Your mother is amazing to have painted all that china! She's very good.

we have to get our decorations in boxes in the garage that are hard to reach unless you move other boxes and bicycles first. But the reward is that when the boxes are emptied and the Yule is prominent, the mess is long forgotten. Your home lile like ours when the unpacking begins. Happy Advent and Ruby Tuesday!

Great decorations. Thats the worst part, I think of decorating for Xmas. Is the millions of boxes to keep it all in.

Decorating always makes such a huge mess while everything gets rearranged, but the results are always worth it. Your home is lovely, and I really enjoy reading about the different traditions in your country. Your mother's painted china is especially wonderful!

Dear teach Mary,
I had to look up "poinsettia".
Living and learning that the shrub in my garden has such a fancy name.
They are a patient specie, stay green till New Year without a drop of water.

Dear Leora,
you haven't seen my hallway with the 12 boxes..
Once its done, I'll relax and eat cookies from the baker's.

Hi EG,
yes, my Mom is a model house wife,
skilled in every way. Her daughter, being me, is more of a unstructured jack of no trade at the moment.

Dear Ralph,
the unpacking sure will last some more days.
The best concerts and the tastiest restaurant "Youle table", not to speak of all the interesting markets; they all take place in December.
I prefer to get some of the icing and let the hallway and kitchen flow for another week.

Hi, Debbie,
you sure have got the nerve; not taken the boxes out yet.
Well, I guess you are well organized and perfectly know what you are up to.

Hi Paz,
nice seeing you.

No, Dora,
I am not even a quarter ready!

Hi Miranda,
I have kind of solved half the boxing problems.
Bought transparent boxes and store after theme. Tree decorations in one, nisses and houses in another e.t.c.
Now a Happy Ruby Advent Tuesday to all of you
From Felisol

You say you have a mess - it looks good so far to me.
At least you've started - makes me feel behind. :)
Love the coffee cups and the music!

What a treasure to have a family heirloom like your mother's handpainted china. That must make the holidays all the more special.

Hi Felisol. I just saw over at my blog that you were asking about Hannukah.

Here's a post about Hannukah that I wrote last year. It talks about both the history of the holiday and how we celebrate it :).

The red poinsettia is gorgeous! But the very blue eyes to match the hat is what strikes me!

Felisol, really like your decoration on the table and mother 's handpainted mug. Didn 't she paint some last year too? You showed it to us.She is a gifted artist.

The youlenisse look so jolly and Christmassy. I like thir pointed hats. Thank you for the link You sent.

Well now I feel all Christmasy! I enjoyed scrolling down the page and catching up. Enjoyed the father's Day pictures Loved the songs and videos - especially the first song you learned in school. Beautiful. Your decorations look so warm and like they are all made with love. I had a lovely visit and feel more festive as a result.

By the way, I'm sorry to say that my story - rare for me - does not have the requested happy ending. I didn't want to ruin it for you, but I wanted to prepare you. Glad you are enjoying it.
