SEPIA CONFUSION

This sepia self-portrait in an old stained mirror, kind of interpret my mood right now. I reduced the sepia till about 20 and then did some fiddling I cannot quite explain. As little as I can explain this blues.
The poem; I fell for the first verse, the rest belong to Dylan Thomas.

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on that sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Dylan Thomas

I love that photo. It looks very painterly. Love the light.

Confusion has its own way of adding some fun at times.
Liked the poem in parts.

This looks like an oil painting. Both the photo and poem are so reflective. They complement each other.

I like your (sepia) picture, Felisol. I think it might have been even prettier pure before you 'fiddled' with it.

I wasn't familiar with this poem. You are much more versed than this country fellow from the U.S.
We all want our light to last until the end of day. I like to think that God is in charge of both the light and the close of day.
We humans don't have too much control of either of these except for bad choices which ruin our bodies and a little modern medicine allowed by God. These can change the light to some extent.
..
BTW, that was a nice thing you did for Pops Golden. I know that all of them up there in Canada were very happy when the card came.
And yes, there are a lot of us who are praying for Pop.

I really like that photo Felisol.... you look ethereal and contemplative... some days bring that kind of reflection. The good news is that no matter what we are feeling... God has us! He takes us through those feelings and on to the next step of His life is us. Isn't that amazing?

Love you my Norwegian sister!

Dear Terry, girls & guys,
When I started blogging I asked Serina, she's a great adviser with lots of common sense, well, I asked her, "How shall I relate to all these lovely people, with whome I have so much in common, even though we come from different countries and have a different background?"
She went out and flipped a Coca Cola cork where in was written in English, "Show them who you are."
Believe in answers from the Coca Cola company? Well, that has nevertheless been my leading star when writing. Show them who you are (don't pretend).
Hence the somewhat confused sepia.
However, I also flew around and searched for the good word among the sisters, and as always I fund food for my soul.
I feel less blue and less confused.
But yesterday, this is who I was.
Hope that's OK with you.
From Felisol

Thank you for being honest. Really in blog world, it is those who are honest and willing to share honestly from the heart that connect heart to heart.

Much love

I'd comment on how beautiful and mystical you appear in this photograph, but I'm too busy being old with burning and raging.

I love to express my feelings through poetry, especially when I feel blue. I wrote several poems, they were quite plain, but they represented what went on inside me.

I am so sorry you were feeling blue but I also read your comment that says you are now feeling a little better. It's so human to have our ups and downs.
