I start reading from "A year in my Garden" by Karel Capek, and let the Moody Blues fill my ears with The Dream.
I quote my mother, who keeps assuring me, "We will get by this time too,---I think."
The Dream ( Graeme Edge )
The browns, reds and golds of autumn lie in the gutter, dead.
Remember then, that summer birds with wings of fire flaying
Came to witness springs new hope, born of leaves decaying.
Just as new life will come from death, love will come at leisure.
Love of love, love of life and giving without measure
Gives in return a wondrous yearn of a promise almost seen.
Live hand-in-hand and
together we'll stand on the threshold of a dream.
Your photo is dreamlike and eerie.
Your mother is a smart woman (referring to her quote).
"we'll stand on the threshold of a dream" - is that where we are in the photo, on the threshold?
Beautiful, picture and poetic thoughts.
And your mother is right = this too shall pass
I love that quote from your mother. That's a classic!
"We will get by this time too,---I think."
The wisdom of our mothers is priceless!
I had to laugh out loud at your comments on your neighbor situation on my last blog. You are so funny, and you just 'spit things out' so perfectly. I understand why God calls the tongue such a hard thing to tame. It sure is for me, but I know He continues to patiently work it out in His children... all of us! :)
My prayers and my heart are with you these days. I have just fallen for your mother, she is so special. You and Gunnar are such blessings to her. The way you love and care for her is like 'the hands of God'.
Hauntingly beautiful! Alas .. tonight the frost shall slip into my garden and steal the life from its beauty .. making 'mush' of anything left out .. until the sun again appears in springtime to warm the soil and repeat the whole process again. We must find beauty in between the pages of good books .. and in the words of our cyber-friends :)
Felisol, every time I read your blog I find a new reason to like you. You love the Moody Blues!!
I think that is the sweetest act anyone has ever done to me. Searching for reasons to like me.
Thanks for not only making my day, but open my heart open wide.
And, yes, The Moody Blues are a part of me since "Days of Future Past."
Not a May comes without "Nights in White Satin" being played and sung, not an October without "The Dream". Somehow the sight of rotting leaves has become synonymous with the mellowed voice of Graem Edge.
By the way; you know I like you too??!!
