I have a rare talent for worrying, even though I am familiar with the fact, I cannot with all my worries put a cubit to the length of my life.
My brother says I am giving the Lord detail instructions in my prayers. As if I do not know He is the shade upon my right hand. When things curl up inside of me, and my cup is flowing over with worries, I read Psalm 121, Serina's Psalm.
Psalms Chapter 121
1 A Song of Ascents.I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains: from whence shall my help come?
2 My help cometh from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved; He that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, He that keepeth Israel doth neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is thy keeper; the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD shall keep thee from all evil; He shall keep thy soul.
8 The LORD shall guard thy going out and thy coming in, from this time forth and for ever.
Anytime I want, I can hear the voice of Serina 3 asking, "Mamma, how far away is God?" The words from the Psalm 121 came to me, "He is not far, He is here." "How can that be?" I read her the verse 5,"the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand." She laughed while making shadow pictures on the wall. "Is he here? Is he there?" That's when finally I realized how true it was. And still is.

You are not alone Felisol! I tend towards worrying too. However, I have to say that I've become a bit more trusting and am casting ALL my cares on the Lord lately. I don't know what to do so I'm looking to Him alone.
Much love to you my friend,
Debbie
For much of my life I planned and worried and still couldn't make it all work out right. That's whne I finally learned to simply trust the Lord. I fall back sometime, but I'm thnakful the way back to Him is so quick to be found!
Many hugs..............
Diane
I like your line about giving detailed instructions in prayer! I do that too.

My dear friend,
Psalm 121 is a psalm very close to my heart.
How beautiful your answer is to your little child, now a beautiful grown lady... I bet she will never forget.
Much love

Pricelss! That's your word for me here this morning Felisol...
We just replaced our upstairs water heater when it burst a few monoths ago, and this morning, the downstairs water heater is flooding all over the garage floor.
He is here! I am standing firm on that!! Serina got it right at 3 years old and I can do no less at this advanced age... :)
How funny, the word verfication is COMOP... does that mean it will take God and I together to mop up the water?? I think so.
thank you for this psalm felisol and serina...love terry
Psalms are so comforting!
I think, my friend, that no matter how old one's children get, they are still our children. We mothers just can't stop worrying. It's in our genetic code. We can control it, but it's always there. Somehow I think it is surely a manifestation of our love for our children.
