Ruby Tuesday Telenor Report

Telenor used to be the only telephone company in Norway, state owned, personal service and local employees. Then came the eighties, private companies were allowed to take over the profitable state owned companies, such as radio & TV, post, railways and telephones. They all went down the drain, with minimal maintenance costs and maximal expenses for the costumers.

Yesterday both our house telephone and our Internet connection were stone dead. we did of course contact our company, (which we have stayed loyal to since 1981) and report the tragedy. Since I need to stay in contact with my Mom, the nursing home, doctors, and our two Internet firms, this was a turbulent situation. Today nothing happened. After 8 telephone calls from my cellphone I was promised help first tomorrow and then within April 20th. No wonder I went bonkers and went out to make some investigations myself..
I found a building site 4 minutes walk from here. The transformer boxes flung wide open and the dark, thin telephone cord lying unprotected for dogs to pie on and rats to feed on.

If you want to know more about Telenor and the dark side of Norway, you might want to google Corruption scandal in India, e.t.c. Survival of the....

You manage to tell an interesting tale with vivid photos, all about a phone company. Good luck. Does not sound pleasant.

Oh Felisol, this is a mess for you isn't it? Say what you will about private enterprise, they are all out for every dime and nickel they can get most any way they can get them. My opinion there.

They sure do have a mess at their site. When I first read your post I thought it was someplace closed down who had left a big mess for somebody else to clean up. Not too far off, huh?

Our Karen's job went to India and he hasn't had a decent one since. That was five years ago when his job went away at Shell Petroleum.

Dear Jim,
I entirely share your opinion.

Dear Felisol,

Do you really need both comment moderation AND word verification? Comment moderation is fine. Word verification is just plain annoying, and I hope you turn it off!

Now, about your photos: Your phone company may be annoying, but at least they left you some lovely splashes of red cables for Ruby Tuesday 2!

Dear MMT,
I´ll do my best to get rid of any irritations.Even with all my precautions I get unwanted visitors.
I agree that the new word verifications are hard to read, especially to me with my post- cataract sight.
I just have to look closely into my blogger lay out. For now, it's good night and thanks for visiting.

Felisol, Howdy Girl!
I'm reading from friends all over the world, that Internet access is sporadic, that power goes off at undetermined times...NEVER convenient--grin!...well, that is, mostly in the East, Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, North Africa.

Again, you prove that pictures say more than words.
Thank YOU
PEACE!

Hi Felisol,

Sorry you are having such trouble with your internet/phone. We don't realize how much we depend on these things till they go down.

How aggravating!

Hope your eye problem improves soon; too early to tell with mine.

I used to have frequent trouble with the Govt. phone an d Internet company, so I have switched on to a private one.It works much better.

Dear Lidia, Terry and Amrita,
Thanks for praying for my mother,
Things seem to get better, and we hope it will continue this way. Nevertheless we know with every bone in our body that we are entirely dependent on God's grace. grace upon grace.
The telephone company hasn't yet delivered. So I am paying blood money to use my cell phone as a modem. Shame on you, Telenor!

Time and again I am, too, annoyed by our one and only electricity company. It's just frustrating to have a blackout so often. Sometimes it's once a week, sometimes twice, sometimes even several times a day!

Since you are posting, things must be fixed. I'm gratified that nothing happened with your mom during the downtime. How nerve-wracking that must have been.
