April walk in Haugesund

Tonjer Lighthouse can only be reached by boat, and is situated on the south side to guide ships entering the narrow strait leading to the harbor.

The local municipal council has decided that we, the inhabitants of Haugesund, deserve a new walking path along these extraordinary
shores. The beauty of the scenery can be admired and experienced no matter what the weather or the season is like.

The path heads northwards and then west again.
If you are familiar with the four directions of the compass, you easily find your way anywhere in Haugesund.

Serina rarely gets lost. She is a former girl scout and can handle most situations.

Out on the Whale she climbed the stairways up to the beacon light. Far behind the horizon in the west is Scotland and the Shetland Islands.

Turning east on our way home, we spot two church towers in a row.
Nearest, Skaare Church where Serina was confirmed, the green copper tower belongs to the Church of Our Savior, where Gunnar was Christened and confirmed.

Even though it was a cold and windy first Sunday in April, I always connect Pat Boone's sweet voice with this month.

April Love :
April love is for the very young
Every star's a wishing star that shines for you
April love is all the seven wonders
One little kiss can tell you this is true

Sometimes an April day will suddenly bring showers
Rain to grow the flowers for her first bouquet
But April love can slip right through your fingers
So if she's the one, don't let her run away

Sometimes an April day will suddenly bring showers
Rain to grow the flowers for her first bouquet
But April love can slip right through your fingers
So if she's the one, don't let her run away
April love is for the very young
Every star's a wishing star that shines for you
April love is all the seven wonders
One little kiss can tell you this is true

Sometimes an April day will suddenly bring showers
Rain to grow the flowers for her first bouquet
But April love can slip right through your fingers
So if she's the one, don't let her run away

Sometimes an April day will suddenly bring showers
Rain to grow the flowers for her first bouquet
But April love can slip right through your fingers
So if she's the one, don't let her run away.

Brillant photography of ht e seaside Felisol and your editing enhances it.

I would call the lovely Serina - Th e Lady o f the Lighthouse.

I sa the movie Joan of Arc yesterday on TV and Milla Janovich reminded me of Serina.

May April blow warm sea breezes over you

Felisol:
I always love your pictures, especially since you are in Norway. It's like visiting you!

Funny little note... my hubby and Pat Boone performed on a stage together in high school. Pat sang, Joe either did magic tricks or was the emcee, I've forgotten. That was a LONG time ago!

I will be at the fairgrounds to shop at an antique show tomorrow, the same place where they filmed April Love...

Serina's sweet face is always fun to see!

Hi Felisol,

Your path and countryside look so wild and windswept. And your daughter looks so lovely--like a flower springing from a crevasse in the rock. The two churches look so intriguing and so inviting. The lighthouse promises danger and adventure--your photo posts say a lot.

I just loved this post, Elise. I so wanted to hop a plane and go, see, and stay. Seeing the coasts of Scotland and the Shetland Islands was magical for me. These climes are my fantasy world. Cold, yes; windy, yes; but, my dream world. April is the perfect month. Not winter, spring is young and everything is starting to burst with life again. Serina looks beautiful and content.

Such beautiful photographs you shared. It makes me want to come and visit. Your Serena is so beautiful! And your town is so unique and lovely. I just received a package in the mail from a blogging friend. It was Jillian's travel journal. I was so excited to see that you had contributed too. I just had to show the photos of you and your family to my husband Greg.

Blessings and love,
Debbie
